Kaduna Government Reschedules Coronation of Moro’a Chief to June 14

Kafanchan (Kaduna State): The Kaduna State Government has postponed the coronation and presentation of the Staff of Office to the Chief of Moro’a, Mr. Isiaku Sambo, from May 31 to June 14. The Moro’a Traditional Council of Moro’a Chiefdom, located in the Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, announced the postponement through a notice issued in Manchok on Wednesday.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the notice was signed by the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Mr. Ishaya Akai, who holds the title of Magayakin Moro’a, or Warlord of Moro’a Land. The council attributed the postponement to an urgent national engagement involving Governor Uba Sani, scheduled for Saturday.

The council emphasized that a new date, June 14, has been set for the event. They expressed regret for any inconvenience the change might cause, assuring that all preparations for the ceremony would continue as planned.

The News Agency of Nigeria further reports that Mr. Isiaku Sambo will be presented with the staff of office as the fifth Chief of Moro’a. This follows the passing of his father, Malam Tagwai Sambo, a first-class traditional ruler, who died on June 15, 2024.
