Morocco's leadership on the international scene, under HM King Mohammed VI's impetus, remains 'undeniable,' thanks in particular to its proactive diplomacy and economic growth, said the former president of Peru's Congress, Martha Chavez. In a statement to MAP on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of HM the King's accession to the Throne of His glorious ancestors, Chavez lauded Morocco's efforts on the international scene and its fruitful diplomatic rapprochement with Latin America, the Kingdom being an observer member of the Andean Community of Nations. She also noted that Morocco's diplomatic efforts have positively impacted the evolution of the Moroccan Sahara issue within the United Nations, highlighting the multiple initiatives undertaken by the Kingdom in favor of conflict prevention and resolution.Within this context, Chavez emphasized Morocco's 'proactive diplomacy' at the service of peace, development and prosperity of peoples, stressing the role of HM the King's 'leadership' in this diplomatic dynamic. In addition to this international projection, the Sovereign has launched a number of large-scale infrastructure projects since his enthronement, including the Tanger-Med port, which, according to the former Peruvian official, illustrates 'pertinent economic management.'Chavez also recalled her recent visit to the construction site of the new port of Dakhla, 'a formidable work' which adds to the many structuring projects launched in the Kingdom's southern provinces. The substantial investments in the southern provinces, she said, also represent the Kingdom's contribution to the development of the entire Sahelo-Saharan region, a dynamic made concrete by His Majesty the King's Atlantic Initiative, which aims to make this seafront 'a space of peace and progress.'Source: Agence Marocaine De Presse
