Abuja: President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), on her birthday. In a statement issued on Saturday by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised her contributions to Nigeria’s global image and diaspora engagement.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the President described Dabiri-Erewa as a dedicated public servant who started her career in broadcasting with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and later served three terms in the House of Representatives. During her time in the House, she chaired both the House Committee on Media and Publicity and the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs, leading key national conversations.
The President commended Dabiri-Erewa for her lifelong dedication to public service, highlighting her commitment to uplifting the underprivileged and promoting national unity. Tinubu emphasized her impact as a journalist, legislator, and NIDCOM boss, noting her tireless pursuit of social justice for Nigerians at home and abroad.
He also praised her efforts in mobilizing diaspora talent to support national growth, particularly in sectors such as education, healthcare, and sports. According to Tinubu, her numerous awards and recognitions are a testament to her excellence, vision, and patriotism.
