Russia Willing to Cooperate with Global South to Counter U.S. Sanctions

Moscow: Russia is ready to enhance its collaboration with the Global South and BRICS nations to challenge what it describes as unlawful U.S. sanctions, stated Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Monday.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Zakharova emphasized that no tariff wars or sanctions can change the inevitable trajectory of history.

“We have a vast network of partners, like-minded people, and allies within the Global South, particularly among BRICS countries, who share this perspective. We are ready to step up cooperation with them to counteract illegal unilateral sanctions and to establish a truly multilateral, just, and equitable global order,” Zakharova declared.

Zakharova further criticized U.S. policies as direct violations of national sovereignty and interference in the domestic affairs of other countries. She noted that sanctions and restrictions are an unfortunate reality in the current global stage, affecting nations worldwide.

She accused Washington of being unable to accept its diminishing dominance in the emerging multipolar world order, asserting that it continues to practice neocolonial policies to maintain its global influence. This is achieved through politicized economic pressures against those who challenge its international agenda, Zakharova claimed.
