Abuja: The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) announced on Wednesday that a collapse of the national grid occurred at approximately 11:23 a.m., leading to widespread power outages.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the AEDC communicated this development via its verified Twitter account in Abuja. The company stated, “Please be informed that the power outage currently being experienced is due to a loss of supply from the national grid at about 11:23 a.m. on Wednesday.”

The power disruption has affected electricity supply across all areas within the AEDC’s franchise. The company reassured its customers, stating, “Be rest assured we are working closely with the relevant stakeholders to ensure power is restored once the grid is stabilised.”
