Nouakchott: The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Mauritania organized a public event to commemorate a number of Palestinian national occasions. The gathering saw the presence of Palestinian Ambassador Bashir Salim Abu Hatab along with embassy staff, Mauritanian Minister of Justice Mohamed Ould Soueidat, acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vice President of the ruling party Mohamed Yahya Ould Horma, and several representatives from the diplomatic corps, deputies, mayors, party leaders, cadres, and a large crowd.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Ambassador Abu Hatab expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Mauritania, led by President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, for their unwavering support for the State of Palestine and its people’s rights in international forums. He conveyed greetings from the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, and the Palestinian leadership, emphasizing the severe challenges faced by Palestinians, including acts of war, torture, destruction, and attempts at uprooting.
Vice President of the ruling Justice Party in Mauritania, Mohamed Yahya Ould Horma, urged the international community to halt the violations against the Palestinian people. He acknowledged the progress made by the Palestinian cause, noting the growing recognition of the State of Palestine by many European countries and the increasing awareness among Western populations regarding the legitimacy of the Palestinian claims.
