Ibadan: The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has emphasised the need for stakeholders’ collaboration to ensure a seamless transformation of ideas to impactful digital solutions. The Director-General of NITDA, Mr. Kashifu Inuwa, stated this during an engagement meeting with the NITDA States Digital Economy Technical Working Group in Ibadan.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, participants were drawn from Oyo, Osun, and Ogun States to share ideas and pool resources for the development of information technology (IT) in the South-West region. The event, themed ‘Creating Opportunities, Breaking Boundaries: Toward Digitalisation and Entrepreneurial Evolution,’ aimed to align state-level Digital Economy Initiatives with the Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan.
Inuwa, represented by the Director of Zonal Office Coordination, NITDA, Abuja, Mr. Babajide Ajayi, highlighted that the meeting offered stakeholders in the states’ digital economy ecosystem an opportunity to express their views on the agency’s implementation of its mandate. The engagement seeks to establish a sustainable model of collaborations and consistent feedback channels.
He noted that previous statewide stakeholder engagement programmes in Ogun, Oyo, and Osun States led to the creation of Technical Working Groups for each state, enhancing engagement and collaboration efforts. As digitalisation and entrepreneurial evolution progress, NITDA remains committed to providing a collaborative platform that empowers stakeholders as catalysts of change.
The Coordinator of NITDA South-West Zonal Office, Mrs. Chioma Okee-Agugwo, remarked on Nigeria’s pivotal point in its national development journey with the world shifting towards a digitally driven economy. Represented by the Assistant-Director, South-West Zonal Office, Mrs. Rita Shoremi, she reiterated the importance of deepening engagement and aligning strategies to foster shared ownership of Nigeria’s digital transformation journey.
In his welcome remarks, the Senior Special Assistant on ICT and E-Governance to Gov. Seyi Makinde, Mr. Bayo Akande, expressed the state government’s commitment to adopting ICT as a driver of inclusive growth. He assured readiness to partner with NITDA to ensure that outcomes from the Technical Working Group translate into real impact for citizens.
The event featured presentations on NITDA Strategic Roadmap 2.0, an overview of the NITDA Digital Literacy 4 All Initiative, and technical sessions.
