Nigerian-German Investment and Cultural Expo to Promote Tinubu’s Agenda – Tuggar

Abuja: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, announced that the upcoming Nigerian-German Investment and Cultural Expo (NGICE 2025) in Berlin will bolster President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Tuggar made the statement during a visit from a high-level delegation led by former IGP Mike Okiro, who chairs the Organising Committee of the Expo.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the expo is set to take place in Berlin in October 2025. Tuggar emphasized that the event is more than a cultural showcase, as it underscores the depth of Nigeria’s bilateral relations with Germany and aligns with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda by facilitating investment, trade, and cultural diplomacy.

Tuggar pledged the Ministry’s support for the expo, emphasizing its role as a timely mechanism to attract foreign investment and showcase Nigeria’s cultural identity on the global stage. He highlighted the long-standing relationship between Germany and Nigeria, noting his personal connection due to his tenure as Nigeria’s ambassador to Germany.

The minister clarified that specific responsibilities would remain with relevant ministries, such as Culture and Tourism and Trade and Investment. He assured that the Foreign Affairs Ministry is prepared to offer diplomatic assistance, particularly in visa facilitation for participants.

Tuggar pointed out Germany’s consistent openness to cultural engagements, referencing previous events like the 2019 Nigeria Cultural Day in Berlin and collaborations on the return of looted artefacts, including the Benin bronzes.

Former IGP Okiro stated that the expo aims to showcase Nigeria’s investment potential in sectors like oil, gas, and solid minerals, while also promoting Nigerian music and movies to a global audience.

Amb. Chielo Ojirika, Director-General of the Salute Nigeria Initiative and Coordinator of the expo, described it as a strategic platform to attract foreign direct investment and highlight Nigeria’s cultural and business opportunities. He noted that NGICE 2025 seeks to present Nigeria as an investor’s paradise with untapped opportunities in various sectors.

The expo will feature exhibitions, investment showcases, business forums, and roundtable sessions involving investors and sector leaders. Other activities will include cultural displays, a global peace concert, gala night, networking sessions, and guided visits to relevant companies in Germany.

Ojirika expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its support and reiterated the commitment of the organizers to deliver an event that meets international standards and strengthens Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic objectives.
