Vienna - Under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco stands out as "a committed partner" in favor of peace, affirmed the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi."A constructive partner within the IAEA, of which it has been a member since 1957, Morocco has always demonstrated compromise and commitment since the beginning of international cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy and technologies," Grossi stated in a declaration to MAP on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the enthronement of His Majesty King Mohammed VI."I can only commend this commitment of Morocco, and of course, of His Majesty the King, who provides the impetus," Grossi praised, highlighting the Kingdom's active contribution to various issues related to the atom.Since the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the throne, "we have observed a strengthening" of this action, notably through nuclear regulation, he noted, emphasizing the role played in th is regard by the Moroccan Agency for Nuclear and Radiological Safety and Security (AMSSNuR) and the National Center for Energy, Sciences and Nuclear Techniques (CNESTEN)."Morocco has a National Agency for Nuclear and Radiological Safety and Security, which is a collaborating center of the IAEA. This is a distinction that the International Agency does not easily grant to partner national regulators," observed Grossi.
