Paris - Youssra Karim, representing Morocco, secured the silver medal in the discus throw (F41) at the Paralympic Games in Paris on Wednesday. Karim's impressive throw of 36.46 meters earned her second place in the highly competitive event.The gold medal was claimed by Tunisian athlete Raoua Tlili, who achieved a distance of 36.55 meters, while the bronze was awarded to Ecuador's Estefany Gisela Lopez Macas with a throw of 30.89 meters. Another Moroccan competitor, Hayat El Garaa, finished fourth with a throw of 29.74 meters.In her post-competition remarks, Youssra Karim expressed her delight at securing the silver medal, despite her goal of winning gold. She highlighted the rigorous training and preparation she undertook in the lead-up to the Paris Paralympics, acknowledging the high level of competition she faced.Karim's achievement adds to Morocco's growing medal tally at the Paris Paralympics. This silver medal is the 7th medal won by Moroccan athletes, who have also earned three other silver medal s and four bronze medals.Notably, Fatima Zahra El Idrissi won silver in the 1500 meters (T13), and Abdelilah Gani secured silver in the shot put (F53).
