Kaduna SUBEB Recognizes 23 Teachers for Exemplary Service and Dedication

Kaduna: The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) has honored 23 teachers from various local government areas across the state for their exceptional dedication and hard work in educating students.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Executive Chairman of KADSUBEB, Mr. Mubarak Muhammad, described the event as a defining moment for education in Kaduna. This inaugural ceremony aimed to recognize the critical role that basic school teachers play in shaping the future of children. He emphasized that teachers are pivotal in improving learning outcomes and ensuring equal opportunities for all, aligning with Gov. Uba Sani’s SUSTAIN Agenda.

Mr. Muhammad explained that the ‘Best Teacher Award’ was established to celebrate teachers with outstanding skills and dedication, motivating professionalism and character among students. The selection process involved rigorous screening of 115 nominees from 23 local government areas, judged on professional knowledge and teaching skills. Respected institutions like the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria and the Kaduna Basic Education Accountability Mechanism ensured the credibility of the process.

Gov. Sani, represented by Commissioner for Education Prof. Sani Sambo, praised the initiative for celebrating the teachers who are the heart and soul of the educational system. He highlighted the administration’s commitment to education, noting significant budgetary allocations and infrastructure investments since taking office. These efforts underscore the belief that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and unlocking the state’s potential.

On behalf of the awardees, Mrs. Esther Affun expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating that it serves as a motivation for teachers across Kaduna to continue their dedication to education. The awards, she noted, demonstrate that hard work and commitment are valued and appreciated.

The ceremony also saw the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board, Prof. Yahaya Ibrahim, offering scholarships to all awardees for further education. Among the supporters of the initiative were UNICEF, Nigerian Breweries, and Zenith Bank. The awardees received cheques of N500,000 each and certificates for their achievements.
