Implementation of Quranic Teachings to Foster Zero Corruption Society, Says Cleric

Abuja: Malam Tajudeen Adigun, the Chairman of the Council of Imams in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has urged parents to instill the teachings of the Holy Quran in their children and wards, emphasizing its potential to foster a society free from corruption.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Adigun, who also serves as the Chief Imam of the Muslim Community in Abuja, delivered this message during the 6th Annual Quranic Graduation organized by the Nurul Yaqeen Islamic Foundation in Abuja. He highlighted the Quran’s role as a reformative guide for both individuals and society, advocating for its implementation as a means to achieve an ideal society.

The cleric articulated that the Quran, revealed by Allah through Angel Jibril, is a comprehensive book of wisdom and knowledge that encompasses all professions. He stressed that it serves as a moral compass for humanity, capable of reforming individuals and thereby constructing an ideal society. Adigun remarked that the Quran’s teachings, if comprehended and enacted, promote freedom and societal reform, ultimately eradicating corruption and preventing oppressive behaviors.

He appealed to parents to ensure their children and wards acquire Quranic knowledge. Furthermore, he called on Muslims globally to consistently recite and adhere to the Quran’s teachings, asserting that such practices would lead to a peaceful life both in this world and beyond.

Malam Garba Al-Yolawi, Director-General of the Nurul Yaqeen Islamic Foundation, also shared his excitement regarding the foundation’s progress in imparting Quranic knowledge to the community’s youth. Al-Yolawi highlighted the significance of the graduation ceremony being held inside a mosque under construction, marking a milestone for the foundation. He also announced the upcoming launch of the Nurul Yaqeen Academy, which will expand the foundation’s educational offerings to include primary and junior secondary school levels starting in September.
