Nouakchott - Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI, on Thursday in Nouakchott, at the investiture ceremony of Mauritania's President, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, re-elected for a second term following July 29 elections.During this ceremony, held in the congress palace in Nouakchott in the presence of heads of State and government, El Ghazouani was sworn in as President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania for a new five-year term.Akhannouch attended the swearing-in ceremony with the Kingdom's ambassador to Nouakchott, Hamid Chabar.His Majesty the King had sent a message of congratulations to Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani on his re-election, in which the Sovereign reaffirmed His firm determination to work with the Mauritanian Head of State to further reinforce the distinguished cooperation relations between the two neighboring countries and to raise them to the level of a "model partnership" that embodies the solidity of the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity betw een the two brotherly peoples in order to meet their common ambitions.Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani won the presidential election with 56.12% of the vote in the first round.Source: Agence Marocaine De Presse
