Manchok: Gov. Uba Sani on Saturday presented the staff of office to the new first class Chief of Moroa, Mr. Isiaku Sambo. Sambo was appointed the new chief of Moroa by the governor on December 18, 2024, following the death of his father, Tagwai Sambo, who had served for 58 years.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the presentation ceremony took place in Manchok, where Gov. Sani expressed that the appointment of the new chief was a testament to his competence and commitment to humanity. The governor urged the traditional ruler to uphold values of justice, fairness, and equity in his leadership.
Gov. Sani also reiterated the government’s commitment to ongoing rural development and ensuring inclusivity for all. In his remarks, Sadiq Lagos, the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, highlighted the importance of traditional institutions in governance and peacebuilding. He encouraged the community to support the new chief.
In his acceptance speech, Sambo expressed gratitude to the governor and Moroa’s traditional leaders for their trust. He pledged to continue his father’s legacy by leading with integrity and a focus on the people’s welfare. Sambo assured the community of his dedication to teamwork and prioritizing the people’s interests.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that Tagwai, the 5th chief of Moroa, was born on August 20, 1976.
