Pretoria - The Moroccan men's U-18 basketball team on Thursday secured a spot in FIBA U18 AfroBasket 2024 semi finals, held in Pretoria, South Africa, after defeating Angola in the quarter-finals (61-45).This marks Morocco's first time at this advanced stage of the competition.From the outset, the Moroccan players showed great determination to overcome a tough Angolan team, considered one of the best in Africa, widening the gap as the game went on to secure a spot at the of Afrobasket-2024 semi-finals.The national team tackled the game in good spirits after beating hosts South Africa in the quarter-final.In their opening Group C match, the Five Nationals bested Zambia 84-67 before losing to Rwanda 55-51.Other games of quarter-finals include Egypt vs Senegal, Rwanda vs Cameroon and Mali vs Nigeria.The tournament brings together 12 countries divided into three groups.
