Federal High Court Announces 2025 Annual Vacation Schedule

Abuja: The Federal High Court has announced its annual vacation schedule for 2025, set to commence from July 28 and conclude on September 16. The court will resume its regular sessions on September 17, as confirmed by the court’s Director of Information, Mrs. Catherine Oby Christopher.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, during the vacation period, the core divisions of the court located in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt will remain operational for cases deemed extremely urgent. Mrs. Christopher emphasized that the litigating public can approach only these specified courts nearest to them for any urgent matters.

The Director of Information also provided details about the judges who will be available during the vacation. In Abuja, Justice Emeka Nwite and Justice M. S. Liman will be on duty. In Lagos, Justice Deinde I. Dipeolu and Justice Musa Kakaki will handle urgent cases. Meanwhile, in Port Harcourt, Justice P. M. Ayua and Justice A. T. Mohammed will be available.

Mrs. Christopher further explained that the annual vacation is in accordance with the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019. The Chief Judge, Justice John Tsoho, extended his wishes for a pleasant vacation to his fellow lordships in advance.
