A total of 18 bakers in the Nkwanta North District have received cylinders and ovens under the Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social (SOCO) project.It is part of the livelihood Empowerment Programme to improve the lives of the beneficiaries and families.Mr William Kidignang Nawugma, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Nkwanta North in the Oti Region, said the project would improve the lives of beneficiaries in the district as well as some selected districts in the Northern sector of Ghana.He said the equipment presented to the bakers would help them to improve their economic activities and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items to help them get a good income to support their families.He also cautioned them against the sale of the items which were meant to alleviate poverty in the area.The beneficiaries thanked the government and the DCE for bringing such initiative to the area.They said the items presented to them would go a long way in their businesses and promised to put them t o good use.Source: Ghana News Agency

Stock Exchange (Casablanca) – The Casablanca Stock Exchange opened trading lower on Monday, with its benchmark index, the MASI, down 0.05% to 13,785.68 points.
