Rabat - The African Development Bank (AfDB) launched, here Monday, the new 'RASME' digital solution, which collects accurate and reliable data in real time to monitor the progress of projects in digital formats.The RASME (Appraisal Supervision Monitoring and Evaluation), soon to be extended to all other African countries, exploits several digital technologies to further improve project monitoring and evaluation processes, says AfDB in a press release.Speaking on the occasion, AfDB's Country Office Manager for Morocco, Achraf Tarsim, said that with RASME, collecting data on projects is faster, more efficient and more cost-effective, allowing for a better conception and a good deployment of the Bank's future operations.For his part, Abdelkrim Achir, Deputy Director of the Treasury and External Finance, representing the Ministry of the Economy and Finance, stressed that "Morocco is an emerging country aspiring to new levels of growth with an accelerating pace of development."'This solution will contribut e to this development by providing reliable data to ensure a more efficient project management, making decision-making all the easier to serve development priorities," he added.Using mobile devices (smartphones) and aerial or satellite imagery, the RASME IT solution collects precise, reliable data in real time to monitor project progress in digital formats (data, photos, videos, maps, etc.), directly from the field.It is a continental initiative illustrating the digital transition engaged by the AfDB to transform its operational processes.
