A group of people, said to be Concerned Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Monday, petitioned the National Chief Imam, Sheik Osman Sharabutu, to intervene in an impasse between a businessman, George Oti Bonsu and Mr Abu Ramadan, a politician, over the destruction of Mr Bonsu's properties at Adjiringanor, Accra.Mr Ramadan, a brother of the Second Lady, Samira Ramadan, is alleged to have brought excavators to demolish the properties over a land ownership dispute.The cost of the ten houses demolished is estimated at US$3.5 million dollars.The petition, signed by the Reverend (Rtd.) Dickson Kankam Boadu, Chairman, and Diaspora Representative, Nana Ekow Annan Nyarko, First Vice Chairman, Francis Tosu Yao, Secretary, Zakaria Sukemana, Director of Operations and Madam Cynthia Akumoa Boateng, Women's Commissioner, prayed for the intervention of the National Chief Imam for a peaceful resolution of the issue.It described Mr Bonsu as a long-time friend of the Islamic community in Ghana a nd pleaded with the National Chief Imam to help address the misunderstanding for the 'joy of all'.The statement said in the early hours of 7th April, during this year's Ramadan period, Mr Ramadan allegedly caused the demolition of ten two-storey houses belonging to Mr Bonsu.Source: Ghana News Agency
