The Black Stars of Ghana held their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium as they prepare for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan on Thursday.A total of eleven players were present at today's training session including Elisha Owusu, Kudus Mohammed, Fatawu Issahaku, and Jordan Ayew, among others.Some notable absentees at today's training session were Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey and first choice goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi.Black Stars coach Otto Addo, together with his assistants John Painstil and Fatawu Dauda took the players through passing and shooting drills that lasted for about an hour.FC Samartex 1996 left-back Issac Afful who received his maiden call-up to the team was involved in the training session.Mr Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association was present at the training session as he interacted and motivated the players ahead of the crucial encounter with the Falcons of Sudan.Black Stars would continue to train until Wednesday, October 9, 2024, before hosting Sudan on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 1600hours.Full list of eleven players present at training today:Goalkeepers: Joseph Wallocott, Frederick AsareDefenders: Gideon Mensah, Isaac Afful, Mohammed SalisuMidfielders: Elisha Owusu, Kudus Mohammed, Fatawu IssahakuStrikers: Thomas Bradon Asante, Jordan Ayew, Antoine SemenyoSource: Ghana News Agency
