African Scholars and Islamic Cultural Leaders Condemn Iranian Attacks on Gulf States

Nouakchott: The head of the African Scholars Forum and the head of the Islamic Cultural Assembly have strongly condemned the Iranian attacks on the Gulf states. Sheikh Mohamed El Hafedh El Nahoui, during a meeting with leaders of the Islamic Cultural Assembly and the Forum of African Scholars, expressed his firm stance against the Iranian assaults targeting several countries, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He deemed these attacks unjustified, particularly in light of the well-established opposition of these nations to the ongoing war.According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Sheikh Al-Nahawi emphasized that Iran should have directed its aggression towards the Zionists instead of targeting Islamic nations, despite its opposition to the war and efforts to avoid it. He highlighted that the security of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and Jordan serves as a stabilizing factor for the Middle East and the broader Islamic world, including Iran. He praised the supportive positions of these countries towards Mauritania, as well as the official stance taken by Mauritania, as reflected in the statements by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Sheikh Al-Nahawi urged scholars and civil society actors to earnestly contribute to strengthening Islamic solidarity and to foster good relations with non-Arab and non-Islamic countries committed to spreading global peace and security. He concluded his remarks with a prayer to God Almighty to protect the Islamic world, halt the bloodshed, and expedite the end of the war for the benefit of the Arab and Islamic nations. Sheikh Al-Nahawi viewed any conflict or attack on Islamic countries as serving the common Zionist enemy, against whom efforts should be united to support the Palestinian cause and liberate Al-Aqsa Mosque.
