Rabat - In accordance with the far-sighted vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Moroccan-Senegalese relations have a "special place" in the Kingdom's foreign policy, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, said Monday in Rabat."It is a solidarity and cooperation relationship that His Majesty the King has always wanted to guide towards mutual benefit to provide a very particular model of inter-African and South-South cooperation,' Bourita underlined at a joint press briefing following his talks with Senegalese Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, Yassine Fall.Based on the "unique character" of this relationship, His Majesty the King "insisted that a Moroccan delegation participates in the swearing-in ceremony of His brother President of the Republic of Senegal, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye", the minister said.The participation of a delegation on the High Instructions of His Majesty the King at this ceremony was another testimony o f the Royal attachment to strengthening this relationship, he noted, adding that it was also "an expression of trust from HM the King in the choices and decisions of the Senegalese people and the strong institutions of Senegal."He also pointed out that Fall's visit to Morocco, the first of its kind on a bilateral basis to a foreign country, is "the sign of a unique relationship between the two countries and a mutual attachment of Moroccan and Senegalese peoples to promoting bilateral relations".In this regard, Bourita reiterated the Kingdom's full willingness to share its experience and expertise with Senegal, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, to strengthen bilateral relations in all areas."We have many assets in the bilateral relationship, in particular these historical roots, this strong human relationship and this experience of very fruitful cooperation between the two countries,' he noted.Bourita also underlined that Morocco and Senegal are two actors of stability in Africa, adding t hat within pan-African regional organizations and the multilateral system, the two countries always work for the same values and goals."Our political consultation mechanisms have always helped us to converge our priorities and initiatives,' he added.The minister also expressed Morocco's appreciation for Senegal's clear and constant positions in favor of Morocco's territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory, stressing that "Senegal has always been an ally of Morocco on this issue'.Source: Agence Marocaine De Presse
