Bago Eases Curfew on Motorcycles, Tricycles

Minna: Gov. Umaru Bago of Niger has announced a revision of the curfew hours imposed on the movement of motorcycles and tricycles within the Minna metropolis. This announcement marks a significant adjustment aimed at balancing security concerns with the daily activities of residents.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the revised curfew hours, as stated by Gov. Bago, will now be from 8 pm to 6 am. This change was made following security updates received from the state security committee. Gov. Bago emphasized that his administration remains engaged with the security committee to evaluate the effectiveness of the curfew and to make further adjustments if necessary.

Gov. Bago urged citizens to remain law-abiding and reiterated his administration’s dedication to implementing policies that have a positive impact on their lives and ensure their wellbeing. He assured the people of Niger of ongoing efforts to maintain safety and order in the region.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the governor had initially announced on April 23 a restriction on the movement of motorcycles and tricycles from 6 a.m to 6 p.m. This measure was taken in response to a rise in thuggery, with the restrictions aimed at addressing growing insecurity in parts of the state capital, Minna.
