Kabusa-Ketti Road: Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Opening Up FCT Rural Economies

Abuja: President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to open up economies of rural communities in the Federal Capital Territory through the construction of more rural roads. Tinubu made the commitment in Abuja while inaugurating the newly constructed 10-kilometre Kabusa-Ketti Road in Abuja Municipal Area Council, marking his second year in office.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the 10km road connects seven communities, starting from Kabusa and ending at Ketti. Represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, President Tinubu emphasized that the road, though modest in length, is a transformational infrastructure for the people and surrounding communities. He highlighted its role in enhancing trade, improving access to schools and healthcare, and ensuring inclusivity in national development.

Tinubu expressed that the project aligns with his administration’s ‘Renewal Hope Agenda’, focusing on practical governance that affects people’s daily lives. He assured rural communities in the FCT and nationwide of more impactful projects in the future. Commending the Minister of the FCT, Mr. Nyesom Wike, Tinubu praised the timely delivery and quality of the project.

Earlier, Minister Wike noted that the project was awarded to a local contractor who began work in December 2024. He appreciated the contractor’s timely completion of the project and recognized the support from community leaders and youths in Ketti. Wike highlighted the positive community response to the new road, underscoring its significance.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that following the inauguration, Wike visited Wassa District to inspect the permanent site allocated for relocating Apo Mechanics’ traders and dealers. This visit aims to assess the necessary infrastructure to support the relocation from the Outer Southern Expressway corridor.
