Abuja: Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, has credited achievements in the Nigerian civil service to policy support, strategic direction, and encouragement from President Bola Tinubu. Walson-Jack made the remarks on Sunday at a thanksgiving service to commemorate the 2025 Civil Service Week, at the Family Worship Centre, Wuye, Abuja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Walson-Jack expressed gratitude for the policy backing and encouragement from President Tinubu, which has been pivotal for the reform efforts in the civil service. She highlighted the role of development partners both within and outside Nigeria, acknowledging their contributions through funding, capacity building, and technical assistance. These partnerships, she noted, emphasize that the mission to reform the Nigerian civil service is recognized beyond national borders.
Walson-Jack also emphasized the significance of the thanksgiving service as a moment for reflection and renewed commitment to national service. She expressed appreciation to the Family Worship Centre for hosting the event and urged the Christian community to continue supporting the transformation efforts through prayer.
Senior Pastor of the Church, Mrs. Sarah Omakwu, addressed the attendees, urging civil servants to uphold integrity and commit to excellence. Omakwu quoted Luke 3:14, warning against bribery and corruption, and stressed the need for accountability in public service. She encouraged civil servants to continuously improve their skills and work efficiently to address Nigeria’s challenges.
The Civil Service Week officially began on Friday, featuring various activities aimed at celebrating and reflecting on the civil service’s role in national development. The News Agency of Nigeria reported that prayers were offered for divine intervention in addressing Nigeria’s ongoing issues of insecurity and violence.
