Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has accepted President Bola Tinubu’s invitation to visit Nigeria in 2025. Tinubu extended the invitation during their bilateral talks on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, as stated by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President’s spokesman.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, President Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi as the guest of the UAE President to participate in the Sustainability Week. During the event, he presented Nigeria’s stance on climate and other global challenges and congratulated the UAE leader for the successful execution of the event. The discussions between the two leaders focused on enhancing economic cooperation and exploring investment opportunities in Nigeria.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for accepting the invitation and reiterated the UAE’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Nigeria. Tinubu highlighted his government’s economic reforms, which he said have stabilized and grown the economy, attracting foreign investments, including significant commitments from international oil companies. He encouraged the UAE to partner with Nigeria in its economic development efforts.
President Tinubu also expressed his appreciation for the warm reception he and his delegation received from the UAE since their arrival.
