Lagos: President Bola Tinubu has declared his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the security and safety of Nigerians. The president made this assertion in a statement on Thursday, marking the second anniversary of his time in office.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, President Tinubu emphasized that a responsive and reliable national security framework is crucial for the optimal performance of the nation’s economy. He highlighted the importance of safeguarding lives and properties, stating that threats from those aiming to harm citizens could significantly disrupt the Nigerian way of life. Tinubu expressed that protecting the populace and maintaining their peace is the government’s top priority.

The president elaborated on the steps his administration has undertaken to bolster security, including improving collaboration among security agencies, enhancing intelligence-driven operations, and ensuring better welfare for the armed forces and security personnel. He took the opportunity to commend the courage and daily sacrifices of service men and women, acknowledging that while their efforts may not always be visible, the nation benefits greatly from their dedication.

Tinubu further noted that the military, police, and intelligence agencies remain committed to addressing emerging security threats and challenges, viewing it as their patriotic duty to the nation. He reported successes in regions like the North-West, where previously bandit-controlled areas have seen restored order through the efforts of the armed forces. This has led to a resurgence of agricultural activities and safer highways.

The president also highlighted the success of security agencies in rescuing abducted citizens and reiterated his promise to remain vigilant. He called on security chiefs to enhance their collaboration and efforts to eliminate threats, reassuring Nigerians of their right to live without fear.
