LAGOS: President Bola Tinubu expressed his appreciation for the support of the National Assembly over the past 19 months, emphasizing his commitment to advancing Nigeria’s development. Speaking on Wednesday in Lagos, Tinubu addressed Vice President Kashim Shettima, the leadership of the National Assembly, and former principal officers of the legislative body, highlighting the transformative journey his administration has embarked upon.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, President Tinubu stressed the importance of national unity and collective effort in achieving long-term goals. He emphasized that the journey is for future generations and praised the lawmakers’ dedication to value addition and a proactive spirit. Tinubu pledged to continue making courageous decisions and fostering intellectual curiosity for the country’s growth.
Godswill Akpabio, President of the Senate, acknowledged Tinubu’s courage and commitment to reform, assuring him of the National Assembly’s unwavering support. He pointed to positive economic indicators under Tinubu’s leadership, including Nigeria’s oversubscribed Eurobond, improved ease of doing business, and growing foreign investor confidence. Rep. Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, lauded Tinubu’s respect and support for the National Assembly, noting the legislative body’s unity and fulfillment.
