According to News Agency of Nigeria, El-Rufai, a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has played significant roles in Nigeria’s political landscape. He served as the governor of Kaduna State for eight years. Before entering elective office, he was the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from 2003 to 2007.
President Tinubu commended El-Rufai’s dedication to mentoring the younger generation and recognized his involvement in the dialogues that led to the formation of the APC. El-Rufai’s contributions were instrumental in the party’s success in the 2015, 2019, and 2023 elections.
