Abuja: President Bola Tinubu and several key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have arrived at the party’s national secretariat for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, members of the committee began arriving at the party’s national secretariat on Blantyre Street in Wuse 2, Abuja, as early as 9:00 a.m. This NEC meeting follows a party caucus meeting held on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa.
Security measures have been heightened around the venue, with all roads leading to the meeting site cordoned off by a combined team of armed security personnel. Human and vehicular movements on the street have also been restricted to ensure security and order during the meeting.
The NEC meeting is slated to address key issues such as the reconciliation of aggrieved APC members from various chapters, the inclusion of new members, and other national matters. The gathering is seen as a critical step in unifying the party and strategizing for upcoming political engagements.
Among the early arrivals at the meeting were members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), the Forum of APC State Chairmen, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, and former Zamfara Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari. Also in attendance were the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.
