Six people were killed and 15 others injured, yesterday, in a road accident in Western Algeria, said a statement of the Algerian civil protection authority.
The accident occurred when a bus collided with a trailer truck, in the western province of Tindouf, it said.
The injured passengers and the bodies of the victims were transferred to a medical centre in the nearby village, while the causes of the accident were under investigation, it added.
According to the statistics of the Algerian National Centre for Prevention and Road Safety, more than 90 percent of traffic accidents in Algeria were caused by human factors, in particular disobeying traffic law, while other factors include the poor state of roads and cars, and environmental reasons.
