Reform Dynamic under HM the King’s Impetus Strengthens Morocco’s Position on World Stage – Rama Yade

Washington – The dynamic of reforms undertaken by Morocco since the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne strengthens the Kingdom’s position on the African and global stage, stated the Africa Director of the prestigious American think tank Atlantic Council, Rama Yade.

“It’s over two decades of reforms that have consolidated Morocco’s place on the map, not only in Africa but in the rest of the world,” Yade told MAP, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of His Majesty the King’s enthronement, noting that the progress recorded by the Kingdom since the Sovereign’s accession to the Throne is “remarkable in many respects.”

The former French Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Human Rights cited, in this regard, sustained economic growth, notable improvements in the business climate and infrastructure, as well as the significant growth of investments in Africa.

“Morocco has made undeniable economic and social progress,” Yade specified, seeing it as the result of three essential element
s: integration into globalization, a reform strategy, and a proactive industrial strategy.

Yade also highlighted the virtuous reform dynamic initiated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the field of human rights, recalling the “brilliantly won” election of the Kingdom to the Presidency of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

“This is a recognition of the enlightened and humanistic vision” of His Majesty the King, she indicated.
