Luanda: At least 1,006 schools in Angola are set to receive technological equipment, including computers and internet access, starting in 2025 to enhance the teaching and learning process. This announcement was made by the Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, during an international symposium on educational assessment held in Luanda.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister emphasized the Ministry of Education’s initiative to integrate digitalization into the education system. Despite technology usage in Angolan primary education currently being limited, efforts are underway to change this. The introduction of technology in schools aims to equip pupils with computer skills and broaden their knowledge across various subjects.
The minister highlighted the importance of focusing on educational evaluation, which she described as a critical and immediate issue for developing an effective education and teaching system. The symposium serves as a platform to discuss the role of external assessment in shap
ing public policies, its influence on student learning, and the challenges and practicality within the Angolan context. This initiative is part of a broader aim to implement a National Evaluation System.
