NDSF: Delta Leads with 67 Medals

Abuja: Team Delta has taken an early lead on the medals table at the ongoing Niger Delta Sports Festival, securing a total of 67 medals.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the latest tally was released by the organisers as of the end of Day Three (8 p.m. on Saturday).

The Niger Delta Sports Festival, currently hosted by Akwa Ibom, features participation from the nine Niger Delta states. The medal table released on Sunday in Uyo by the Main Organising Committee shows Delta leading the pack with 32 golds, 16 silvers, and 19 bronze medals.

Bayelsa follows closely with 29 gold, 16 silver, and 11 bronze medals, totaling 56 medals. Edo is third with a total of 55 medals, comprising 10 golds, 25 silver, and 20 bronze medals.

Team Rivers occupies the fourth position on the medals table with 10 gold, seven silver, and 14 bronze medals, totaling 31 medals. Team Ondo and host state, Akwa Ibom, both have 19 medals. Ondo has four gold, nine silver, and six bronze medals, while Akwa Ibom has four gold, seven silver, and eight bronze medals, placing them in fifth and sixth positions, respectively.

Team Imo is seventh with three gold, nine silver, and 14 bronze medals, totaling 26 medals. Team Cross River has three gold, four silver, and 12 bronze medals, making a total of 19 medals, placing them eighth. Team Abia is last with a total of 13 medals, consisting of three gold, four silver, and six bronze medals.
