NCCE, Ledzokuku Municipal reactivates IPDC for peaceful election

The Ledzokuku Municipal Office of the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE) has reactivated its Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC) to promote peace in the area.

Mr. Nicholas Tetteh Atiogbe, the NCCE Director for Ledzokuku, emphasised the importance of adhering to constitutional rules for peaceful coexistence.

Mr. Atiogbe noted that the IPDC’s primary goal is to ensure peace, security, and free, fair, and transparent elections through regular meetings.

‘The IPDC will help defuse electoral tensions, ensuring a peaceful election,’ he added.

He cautioned against monetising politics and urged citizens to prioritise the country’s future over personal gain.

He stressed the need to promote peaceful coexistence and educate Ghanaians on the dangers of fake news, which can cause mayhem.

Apostle Psalmwell Chokeman Ababio, the chairman of the IPDC, and Leader of the Celebrated Christ Ministry (CCM) emphasised that the IPDC would focus beyond politics, tackling social vices as well.

He asked for the supp
ort of the constituents in addressing local social issues, stressing that ‘community development relies on collective effort.’

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kofi Obiri, the Teshie District Commander, called for the prioritising of security, urging unity and peace before, during, and after the elections.

He emphasised that security was a shared responsibility, hence the need for all to work together to make sure Ghana continues to enjoy its current peace and harmony.

Mr. Jonathan Aryeh, Secretary of the Teshie Youth Clubs Association, told the Ghana News Agency that they would do their best to sensitise the youth on the need to uphold peace, noting that the youth are the future leaders of the country and therefore must protect it for their own sake.

The event was attended by some parliamentary candidates, staff of the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly, traditional leaders, youth groupings, and persons with disabilities, among others.
