NAHCON Sets Hajj Fare for 2025 Pilgrimage

Abuja: The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the Hajj fare for the 2025 pilgrimage. Intending pilgrims from Southern States will pay N8.7 million, while those from Borno and Adamawa Zone will be charged N8.3 million.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Executive Chairman of NAHCON, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, revealed these details in a statement released by the commission’s Assistant Director, Information and Publication, Mrs. Fatima Usara. Usman also stated that pilgrims from the Northern Zone will pay N8.4 million for the pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2025.

The hajj fare was finalized after collaborative efforts with various stakeholders. Prof. Usman expressed gratitude for the support from the Presidency and the Forum of Executive Secretaries of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, Agencies, and Commissions. He noted that the fare announcement followed approval from the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria.

The commission, alongside Malam Ameen Amshi, Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties, aimed to maintain the fare within a similar range to previous years. This decision was made after extensive consultations to ensure inclusivity.

For more information and a detailed breakdown of the fare, prospective pilgrims are advised to visit the NAHCON website or contact their respective State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards. The chairman also urged prospective pilgrims to adhere to registration timelines and Saudi guidelines to avoid any last-minute issues.

The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the 2024 Hajj fare, with a Federal Government subsidy, was N6.8 million, while those without subsidy paid varying amounts based on their zones.
