By David Wetzel New York (Knewz) — More than 3,000 people died or went missing while trying to cross the central and western Mediterranean and Atlantic to Europe in 2021, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The UNHCR is calling for urgent support to prevent deaths and help refugees and asylum seekers who are taking on dangerous journeys to escape via land and sea.
