Islamic Coalition Concludes Security Workshop in Chad

NDjamena: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition wrapped up a specialized workshop in NDjamena, the capital of Chad, focused on the “Effective Implementation of Security Council Resolutions, United Nations Conventions, and Relevant International Standards.” This workshop is part of the fourth phase of their Sahel Program and spanned two days.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the closing ceremony saw the presence of Major General Pilot Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghidi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition. The workshop, moderated by Yasser Al-Tayfi, an expert in combating terrorism financing and money laundering, targeted a range of participants from regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, auditors, policymakers, government officials, and compliance officers.

This initiative is a segment of a broader series of programs by the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition aimed at the Sahel region, encompassing Chad, Niger, Mali, Mauritania, and Burkina Faso. The outcomes of this workshop are anticipated to bolster institutional integration, modernize regulatory policies, and build competent national capacities to tackle security challenges tied to terrorist financing. These efforts are aimed at enhancing security, stability, and development throughout the region.
