FRSC Disclaims Partnership with WACORPAI on ‘Peace Ambassador’ Number Plates

ABUJA: The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has officially denied any affiliation with the Wazobia Conflict Resolution and Peace Initiative (WACORPAI) concerning the issuance of ‘Peace Ambassador’ number plates. The agency has emphasized that these claims of partnership are false and clarified its position on the matter.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the disclaimer was announced in a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, in Abuja. The FRSC’s statement reiterated its commitment to curbing the use of unauthorized number plates and refuted WACORPAI’s assertions of collaboration.

Ogungbemide stated that Federal Government number plates are designated solely for official use by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. He made it clear that these official plates are not available to individuals or private organizations, regardless of their affiliations or claims.

He further warned the public about the announcement made by WACORPAI, describing it as unfounded and mislead
ing. Ogungbemide underscored that government number plates are strictly reserved for official purposes, urging individuals to refrain from acquiring or displaying unauthorized plates.

The FRSC also cautioned the public against engaging with producers of fake and illegal number plates. Ogungbemide advised members of WACORPAI currently using such plates to remove them promptly to avoid legal repercussions, and discouraged potential buyers from proceeding with any purchases.
