Abuja: The Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) has urged State Governors to join President Bola Tinubu’s drive to bridge the infrastructure gap across the country through Public Private Partnerships (PPPs). Dr Jobson Ewalefoh, the Director-General (D-G) of ICRC, emphasized this initiative in a statement issued in Abuja after a meeting with the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Ewalefoh mentioned that Aiyedatiwa’s visit to the ICRC was to discuss key PPP projects being undertaken by Ondo State. He highlighted the administration’s commitment to collaborations that aim to improve infrastructure for Nigerians. Ewalefoh described the governor’s visit as strategic and indicative of his vision to attract private financing to the state.
The D-G noted that the meeting was part of the ICRC’s efforts to foster collaborations between national and sub-national levels in delivering infrastructure. He encouraged other state governors to emulate Aiyedatiwa by working with the commission to advance their PPP projects. Ewalefoh assured that the ICRC was prepared to provide support and guidance.
Governor Aiyedatiwa praised the commission for its work in regulating and promoting PPPs across Nigeria. He mentioned Ondo State’s intention to execute the Deep-Sea Port project with the regulatory support of the ICRC. Aiyedatiwa expressed his commitment to following the commission’s guidance to ensure the project’s success, acknowledging its significant benefits for both the state and the country.
The governor lauded the leadership of Dr Jobson Ewalefoh, acknowledging the achievements made during his tenure as transformational and inspirational.
