Abuja: The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has called on Nigerians to continue praying for President Bola Tinubu for impactful leadership and good governance. Wike made the call in his Sallah message in Abuja, as part of the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Wike described the task of building Nigeria and its capital territory as a collective dream, emphasizing peace, prosperity, and unity. He highlighted the need for citizens’ support, faith, and continued prayers for divine wisdom and guidance in the task of building Nigeria and a federal capital that everyone would be proud of.
Wike commended the residents of the FCT for their acts of charity, kindness, and generosity throughout the holy month. He acknowledged their commitment to supporting the less privileged, fostering community bonds, and spreading love and peace. He urged all residents to continue to embody these virtues beyond Ramadan, as they are essential to building a harmonious and prosperous society.
The minister referred to the FCT as the ‘centre of unity’ and encouraged residents to uphold and exhibit that unity at all times. He advocated for living in peace and harmony, respecting one another irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, and working together for the common good of all.
Wike assured residents that the FCT Administration remained committed to the infrastructural development of the territory, as well as the welfare and security of all residents. He stated that the administration would continue to prioritize policies and initiatives that enhanced the quality of life in the FCT and ensured a safe and conducive environment for all.
He called on residents to take responsibility for ensuring peace and stability in their communities, resisting any attempts by individuals or groups seeking to create disharmony or disrupt peace. Wike emphasized that security is a collective duty and encouraged everyone to report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
