Eid-el-Fitr Clerics Urge Nigerians to Support Tinubu and Embrace Hope

Ikorodu: The Chief Imam of Sideeqat Ahmad Megida Central Mosque, Ikorodu, Nurudeen Abdul-Kadiri, has called on Nigerians to place their hope in President Bola Tinubu’s administration and support him with prayers. Abdul-Kadiri made this appeal during the Eid-el-Fitr prayer service held in Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Sunday. He acknowledged the challenges of the nation but emphasized that Nigerians should trust in Allah to resolve the country’s challenges.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Abdul-Kadiri urged the faithful to place their hope in Allah and not be despondent, asserting that Allah will resolve all issues. He encouraged continuous prayer for the nation’s leaders, advising against cursing them and instead asking Allah to guide them. The Chief Imam expressed hope that Allah would inspire leaders to implement policies benefiting ordinary citizens.

The essence of Ramadan, Abdul-Kadiri noted, is to attain piety and aid those in need. He urged Muslims to maintain the good deeds practiced during Ramadan and allow God’s consciousness to guide their actions. Islamic scholar Ustaz Muhammad-Sadeeq Sulaimon also addressed the congregation, highlighting the importance of gratitude after fasting and emphasizing the duty of giving Zakatul Fitr to support the less privileged.

Nutritionist Hajia Bolanle Oreagba encouraged viewing the celebration as an opportunity for positive change, urging Nigerians to continue the spirit of love and support exhibited during Ramadan. Alhaji Kafilat Amodemaja, a teacher, encouraged hope for a brighter future despite current hardships, while author Abdul-Rahman Alli stressed the need for unity and support for the administration. Alli also expressed sympathy with the Edo State Government over the recent violence and urged Nigerians to embrace peace and love.

In his remarks, Alli reminded the congregation of the importance of peace, referencing religious teachings that equate the loss of a single life with the loss of all humanity.
