Lagos: ‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬°ric Chelle, the Super Eagles’ Head Coach, has released his final squad list for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. Key forwards like Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, and Simon Moses headline the list, along with other prominent players selected to represent Nigeria in these crucial fixtures.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the 23-player squad also includes goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Kayode Bankole. Defenders William Ekong, Calvin Bassey, and Olaoluwa Aina have also been chosen, providing a strong backbone for the team. Additional defenders such as Bruno Onyemaechi and Bright Osayi-Samuel, alongside midfielders Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, and Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi, have been named in the squad.
Forwards Samuel Chukwueze and Sadiq Umar are also part of the team, while Czech Republic-based defender Igoh Ogbu has made the final cut. The squad features home-based midfielder Papa Daniel Mustapha and Belgium-based forward Tolu Arokodare, showcasing a mix of international and domestic talent.
Nigeria is set to face group C leaders Rwanda in Kigali on March 21. The Super Eagles will then host Zimbabwe’s Warriors at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo four days later, aiming to secure pivotal victories in their World Cup qualification campaign.
