Jaji: The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has urged junior officers at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Jaji to adopt qualities of enterprise, diligence, and resourcefulness to advance their careers and personal lives. Speaking at a regimental dinner ahead of the graduation of Junior Course 98, Oluyede emphasized the importance of these attributes in the military profession.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the regimental dinner is a key event leading up to the students’ graduation, scheduled for Friday. Oluyede highlighted the college’s mission to enhance the professional skills and understanding of officers, preparing them for future staff and command roles. Throughout the 23-week course, officers studied critical concepts such as counter-terrorism, counter-insurgency operations, and strategic approaches to warfare and peace support.
The army chief stressed the significance of learning time management, perseverance, determination, teamwork, and discipline during the course.
He advised the officers to lead with confidence and inspiration rather than coercion, underscoring their vital role in achieving operational and strategic objectives. Oluyede congratulated the students on completing their course, and prizes were awarded to those who excelled.
