Ningbo: The 4th China-CEEC Expo and International Consumer Goods Fair unfolded in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, from May 22 to 25, gathering over 200 guests, including representatives from more than 40 cities across the 14 CEEC member countries of the China-CEEC cooperation mechanism. The event also saw the participation of mayors from over 30 cities in 16 Chinese provinces. Attendees reached a consensus on bolstering cooperation in economic and trade sectors, cultural heritage preservation, intercultural dialogue, urban governance, and green transition, aiming to enhance China-CEEC relations.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the expo provided a platform for many foreign mayors to experience the distinctive allure of Ningbo, renowned for its civilization level. Milan Zecevic, the Mayor of Brod Town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, remarked on Ningbo’s vastness and shared his family’s admiration for the city after showing them photos and videos. Similarly, Žarko Micin, Mayor of Novi Sad in Serbia, praised Ningbo’s rapid development and cultural richness. He noted the city’s superior infrastructure and expressed a desire for his country to emulate the qualities of hard work and unity observed in Ningbo.
Ningbo, historically significant as the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road, continues to be a hub for cultural and economic exchanges. Since being recognized as a ‘National Civilized City’ in 2005, Ningbo has maintained this title multiple times up to 2025. The expo, beyond being a showcase of food and art, served as a dynamic exchange of civilizations.
The 4th China-CEEC Expo and International Consumer Goods Fair attracted over 15,000 professional visitors, including more than 3,000 overseas buyers from 72 countries and regions. The event is expected to generate procurement intentions for imports from CEEC countries exceeding 10 billion yuan.
