Xplor 2017 will be under the honorary presidency of Mr. Ammar Al-Joundi, President of Agnico Eagle

ROUYN-NORANDA, QUEBEC -The Quebec Mineral Exploration Association (AEMQ) is pleased to announce that Xplor 2017 will be held under the honorary presidency of Mr. Ammar Al-Joundi, President of Agnico Eagle. On October 18 and 19, 2017, the event will bring together key stakeholders who contribute to the development of the mineral sector and Quebec’s economic development.

Mr. Al-Joundi was appointed President of Agnico Eagle in April 2015. He was previously Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the company. Mr. Al-Joundi has more than 20 years of experience in finance and business strategy and has extensive experience in mining, financial markets and financial institutions.

Prior to assuming the presidency of Agnico Eagle, Mr. Al-Joundi held various executive positions with Barrick Gold Corporation and Barrick South America. Mr. Al-Joundi is a professional engineer. He graduated (with distinction) from the University of Toronto in Mechanical Engineering and holds an MBA (Honors) from the University of Western Ontario.
