The Electoral Commission wishes to inform the public that, by means of the provisions of Act XI of 2019, it will be carrying out a process enabling the deregistration of persons who have lost eligibility qualifications and yet are still registered as voters in the Local Councils and European Parliament electoral registers. In the coming days, letters will be transmitted to these persons at their last known registered address after which the Commission will publish the names to be deleted in the Government Gazette and in one local newspaper. The Electoral Commission will within one month from such publication and provided that there has been no response from the persons involved, delete their names from the mentioned electoral registers due to be published in October, 2019. This process is in accordance with Article 26 of Chapter 354 of the Laws of Malta.
