Abuja: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will not be extended beyond the deadline of March 8.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, this announcement was made in a statement to newsmen in Abuja by the Board’s Spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin. He stated that the registration period, which commenced on February 3, is set to conclude on March 8, 2025. The deadline has been clearly communicated in all related advertisements and the official calendar for the 2025 UTME exercise.
Dr. Benjamin emphasized the importance of adhering to the stated timeline, especially in light of a recent decline in the number of candidates registering for the examination. He urged all prospective candidates to register promptly and avoid last-minute rushes. As of now, over 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered, aligning closely with the Board’s projections for the 2025 examination cycle.
He further explained that the Board’s calendar is fixed, with several subsequent programs scheduled following the registration period, including examinations, results management, and the admissions exercise. These timelines are coordinated with other agencies whose operations depend on the completion of JAMB’s processes. Extending the registration period would, therefore, disrupt not only the Board’s plans but also those of their partners.
Dr. Benjamin encouraged candidates to complete their registration as soon as possible, adhering to the established timeline for the 2025 UTME.
