Information Minister to Discuss Federal Government’s Tax Reforms at Kaduna NIPR AGM.

Kaduna: The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, is set to be the Guest Speaker at the 2024 Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Public Lecture. The announcement was made by the Chairman of the Kaduna State Chapter of the institute, Mr. Haroun Malami, through a statement released on Thursday in Abuja.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the minister will present a paper titled ‘Tax Reform: The Role of Public Relations in Fostering Constructive Dialogue for National Economic Renaissance.’ Malami emphasized that the AGM and public lecture, scheduled for Saturday, December 7, were motivated by the debates surrounding the Federal Government’s tax reform bills submitted to the National Assembly (NASS).

Malami explained that the institute, recognizing its duty to the public, decided to facilitate a platform that encourages dialogue and a deeper understanding of significant national issues. This initiative aims to address the controvers
ies and discussions linked to the proposed tax reforms.

Additionally, the AGM will feature Prof. Mustapha Muhammad, the Head of the Accounting Department at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, as the Lead Discussant. The event will also include a panel consisting of Human Rights Activist Sen. Shehu Sani, Prof. Cosmas Eze from the Mass Communication Department at ABU Zaria, and Prof. Hauwa’u Yusuf of Kaduna State University, who will further explore the topics raised by the minister’s paper.
