Abuja: The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has announced plans to commence nationwide ground-breaking ceremonies for its housing projects and has urged Nigerians to register early to benefit from affordable housing opportunities. FHA Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mr Oyetunde Ojo, disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja at the commissioning of a newly constructed road within the FHA Estate, Apo-Guzape.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Mr Ojo emphasized that the FHA operated with limited government funding and often ran as a cost-effective, private-sector-like entity, making early participation key to affordability. He urged Nigerians to log in at the early stage via the FHA website or zonal offices, noting that early registrants usually benefit from better pricing. Ojo also warned against scammers, stressing the importance of using the official FHA channels for registration.

Ojo revealed that FHA was preparing to commission Nigeria’s tallest and biggest shopping mall on 3rd Avenue in Gwarinpa, Abuja. The mall will feature 59 shops, a four-story structure, and a 250-seater penthouse hall. He reaffirmed FHA’s dedication to both housing delivery and supporting infrastructure across Nigeria, citing recent progress as a sign of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to solving Nigeria’s housing deficit.

FHA Executive Director of Project Implementation, Mr Remy Omowaye, highlighted the newly commissioned road network, which includes three major access roads. He explained that the challenging terrain required high-level professionalism and quality standards, and that the new road would improve access to the estate and link it to neighbouring areas. A resident, Dr Bitrus Ndangra, praised the project for solving a longstanding access challenge faced by residents, enhancing both movement and security.
